Homemade Peach Cobbler Recipe

My father-in-law requests this recipe often, as it’s his favorite dessert, so I make sure to have this recipe on hand to bless him with it as often as I think of it!

This is such a simple Peach Cobbler recipe! You can use fresh or canned peaches, and you will use the juices from the peaches in the recipe to create a luxurious, juicy, cakey cobbler that is going to melt in your mouth! Some love it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but I’ll leave that up to you!

Peach Cobbler

Peach Cobbler

This simple Peach Cobbler recipe is sure to bring comfort to your gathering time with friends and family! Made with fresh or canned peaches, this cobbler is perfect for every pantry!

Total Time 55 minutes

Ingredients

  • 5 peaches, peeled cored and sliced (about 4 cups)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 Tablespoons of unsalted butter, sliced

For the batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Add the slice peaches, sugar and salt to a saucepan and stir to combine.
    **If using canned peaches, skip steps 1 & 2 and begin at step 3)
  2. Cook on medium heat for just a few minutes, just until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Preheat oven to 350* F. Place sliced butter into a 9x13 baking dish and place the dish in the oven to melt the butter. Once the butter is melted, remove the baking dish from the oven.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in the milk, just until combined. Pour the batter mixture into the 9x13 baking dish with the butter.
  5. Spoon the peaches with their juices over the batter and sprinkle generously with the cinnamon.
  6. Bake at 350* F for 40 minutes. Served best warm. *Some love it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
