I’m happiest when I’m home, surrounded by the people I love, with something growing in the garden and something good simmering in the kitchen. I love slow mornings, meaningful conversations, handwritten letters, old books, beautiful music, and the little everyday moments that make a life feel full.
I’ve always been drawn to the simple things—the things that are easy to overlook when life gets busy. A cup of coffee enjoyed while it’s still warm. A garden beginning to bloom. A meal shared around the table. A story that stays with you long after you’ve finished reading it.
My faith is at the heart of everything I do, and I find myself continually amazed at the ways God can use the most unexpected things to teach us, encourage us, and draw us closer to Him.
I love exploring those connections, especially through stories.
I’ve recently begun my own journey into Tolkien’s works, having first discovered Middle-earth through the films and now experiencing the books for the first time. I’m sharing my wanderings and ponderings here as I go, along with the thoughts, questions, and connections that come along the way.
But The Simple Hobbit is about more than one story.
It’s about life.
It’s about the things we’re learning as we go, the beauty we find along the way, and the stories that help us see our own lives a little differently.
